Among the hot topics was what Faraday Future, a two-year-old company backed by Chinese Internet billionaire Jia Yueting, would finally show the public. If Faraday built this auto, it would have the equivalent of 1,000 horsepower, not exactly what one drives to pick up the kids. Rather, it is being showcased as more of a means to draw interest to the young brand while also promoting the company's variable-platform architecture, an engineering system optimized for electric vehicles, on which all future cars produced by FF will be based.
However, before you get to excited, we have to remind you that the Faraday Future FFZERO1 concept is not going to enter production, but gives you an idea of what the final production model could be like.
Many people will probably be interested to see how the new electric race vehicle will look like, and by its design we are very sure that it will not be a disappointment. Faraday Future says the FFZERO1 needs less than three seconds until 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) and will top out at around 200 mph (322 kph).
The Faraday Future prototype has been revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show.
Emphasizing the speed at which it will develop and build cars, the company's senior vice president of research and development, Nick Sampson, said the company would deliver its first production vehicle in a couple of years. While the chassis of most cars differ according to their make and size, FF's VPA can be stretched and shrunk as required.
Faraday Future After announcing an upcoming billion-dollar Nevada factory, Faraday looks to show off their vast potential in the techonolgy and automotive sectors.
Faraday Future was founded just 18 months ago and already has 750 employees, Sampson said.
"We're working with the biggest and best battery cell suppliers in the world and working with them to design the architecture and battery packs, which will be done in house, in a way similar to the Tesla model", Sampson says.
Dubbed the "Car of Concepts", FF said its vehicle includes "adaptive personalization, seamless transfer of custom vehicle configurations, access to live images and real time data visualization".
"But the vehicle adds credibility to the young EV company", Brauer said.
