Vioncey Dixon, whose sister, E'monnie, was shot to death in York earlier this year, urged the black community to demonstrate the meaning of Black Lives Matter.
Delco says this was key to getting issues addressed during the civil right movement.
"We're not looking to cause a ruckus or cause upheaval or things like that", he says. We have to prioritize the conversation about how to end police violence against people of color as well as join in the work of fixing policies that have a negative effect on their social, economic, political lives. "And, there are people who want to rally and change, and cause genuine change for the greater community", said Koy Adams, the Black Lives Matter Syracuse rally organizer. So, I think of "All Lives Matter" as a distraction technique that has probably been one of the through-line distraction techniques of the movement.
Demonstrators were gathering at Red Barber Park tonight for a Black Lives Matter protest and planned to march to the Sanford Police Department on Goldsboro Boulevard, almost two miles.
Thomas was flanked by leaders of two factions of the black lives matter movement - one of whom said he expects the movement to redirect its energy into voting and lobbying at the state capitol.
"Hell yeah, I'm angry", she said. "It's a very, very serious situation and we just can't let it happen", Trump said. "We're talking about how we're killing our own". "And it's just like the black lives when we are victims". He claimed that the bequest of racial discrimination in the country has brought about hazardous suspicion between the police and minority communities such as the African-Americans. So when I look at a police officer, I'm not looking at someone who's going to shoot me.
But Obama also said the "bad news" was that making progress is hard. Until they do, they have no sympathy from me. Instead, any officer should take iPhone pictures of the incident to be used later if black leadership cares about doing something about the crime. Police said Mckesson "intentionally" placed himself in the road after protesters were repeatedly warned to remain on private property or the curb.
