Thanks to "Pokemon Go", more women are getting into the franchise as well. The system also went down after Niantic opened up the game in 26 countries throughout Europe shortly over the weekend.
The Pokémon GO app launched in select countries on July 5, and has since launched in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. OurMine's claim to fame was when it broke into Jack Dorsey's Vine account and Sundar Pichai's Quora account. The group usually uses the opportunity to advertise its 'security services'. The hacking collective OurMine has claimed credit for attacking the "Pokemon Go" servers.
All these attacks seem like a severe form of marketing efforts from OurMine, a group of three teenagers.
"We wrote we will stop the attack if any [Niantic] staff talked with us, because we will teach them how to protect their servers", the anonymous representative said.
DDOS, or distributed denial of service, attacks involve flooding a server with requests in order to overload it and eventually bring it down.
According to TechCrunch, OurMine notified them about the attack before it started as a proof that it was behind it.

The crash comes on the same day that Pokémon GO received its official launch in more than 20 new European countries, including Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
It was recently revealed that the reason why "Pokemon Go" still isn't available in Japan is because of a server issue that needs resolving.
Because Pokemon Go addicts may be forced to go cold turkey.
