Niantic's previous game, Ingress, features a network of brands mapped to on-street locations, the FT said, adding that CEO John Hanke hinted at similar advertising in Pokemon Go. It now only allows the game to gain access to only basic information, including User ID, gender and age from your Google account.
Statistics released in the USA on Wednesday claimed Pokemon Go had already surpassed the number of daily users of Candy Crush Saga, the hugely popular puzzle game from UK developer King.
