Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump turned to his daughter Ivanka to appeal to female voters, and her message appeared to resonate with women attending the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
This was clearly Ivanka's moment to convince American women that Donald Trump is their candidate, and she seized it. It remains to be seen whether American women will be convinced.
"He is not gender specific in his criticism of people and people that he doesn't particularly like or people he likes that he thinks are wrong on a particular issue", Ivanka told CNN's Poppy Harlow when faced question over his past treatment of women. Despite liking those qualities, however, Wuller said it's not enough to make her cast her vote for Donald Trump.
Commentary by Vivien Labaton, co-founder and co-director of "Make It Work", a campaign working to advance economic security for women, men and families across the country, and "Make It Work Action", the nonpartisan advocacy arm of "Make It Work".
To date, Trump has said little about childcare, equal pay or supporting mothers throughout his campaign.
"As president, my father will change the labor laws that were put in place at a time when women were not a significant portion of the workforce", she said. "If I weren't happily married and, ya know, her father..."
"Ivanka Trump's sophisticated sheath dress works wonders at both social and professional occasions with sleek studwork and a fabulous fit", the store's website said describing the dress, which quickly sold out.
What made the argument so poignant, though, was the way that Ivanka used to extol her father's own record of supporting and promoting women at the Trump Organization and indeed, from the very beginning of his business career.
Ivanka, 34, who first came to notoriety for her role on her dad's reality television show on NBC, "The Apprentice", has since written a book and has also modeled for multiple magazine covers.
"You don't have a family like that by accident", Horn said. "My father has not only the strength and ability necessary to be our next president, but also the kindness and compassion that will enable him to be the leader this country needs", she said.
Ivanka seems aware of this moment for her and her father's campaign downplaying expectations ahead of time.
