Gael Clichy says the players are enjoying Pep Guardiola's approach as they prepare for their ICC clash with Man United.
United boss Jose Mourinho also had to hold his prematch news conference by the side of the training pitch because of the heat and cramped conditions in the press room.
The 53-year-old added that the outcome of the match is not his concern as long as his players come through without injury and get on the first plane back home to England.
Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola attends a press conference for 2016 International Champions Cup match between Manchester City and Manchester United at Olympic Sports Center Stadium on July 24, 2016 in Beijing, China.
His comments were echoed by Mourinho, who said: "I think Beijing is unlucky because the pitch is very bad".
Captain Vincent Kompany is in Beijing with the squad after recovering from an injury-blighted campaign in 2015/16, but did not train with the rest of the players as he is undergoing his own intensive programme to regain full fitness. After we know the conditions, it's maybe a double friendly.
"It is nearly the end and we can go home and train in conditions where the players are safe", said Mourinho after a wild couple of days for his squad after they lost 1-4 to Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on Friday. Why should we have a problem?
"We work together in Barcelona for three years, we were opponents in other clubs but we are just professionals and we have a normal relations". "In a match it's more hard so, again, I hope our players and City's players go home without any kind of injury to start the competitive period well".
Mourinho is concerned that their lack of rest between games could have a negative impact and believes Chelsea - who do not play in Europe at all - have a major advantage in the title race. "I don't see the reason for the question".
"It has been a pleasure and an honour to experience such a warm welcome from the people and supporters here in Beijing, and we remain committed to playing here in the future".
With no game taking place today, United will head back home to Manchester on Monday as planned, while City will jet off to Shenzhen on Tuesday for Thursday's game against Borussia Dortmund.
