It will be sold exclusively by online retailer Flipkart in the country, starting from today. The Huawei P9 features a dual-lens rear camera that's co-engineered with Germany's Leica camera firm.

On the front is a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution in-cell display with very thin bezels on each side and sports a 2.5D on top. The variant launched in India bears 32 GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card for up to 128 GB.

The Huawei Mate 8's successor has been hinted to sport dual rear cameras and a fingerprint scanner.

Of the two 12MP cameras on the back, one camera sensor captures the colour information and the other sensor captures only the black and white and varying levels of gray information.

Much like the Surface, Huawei's MateBook focuses on offering a mobile productivity solution that can also be carried around easily. The RGB camera on the Huawei P9 specializes in capturing color, while the monochrome camera is outstanding at acquiring picture detail. It is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 955 SoC (4 Cortex-A72 cores at 2.5GHz, 4 Cortex-A53 cores at 1.8GHz) with a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, which is the most powerful graphics chip in a Huawei phone to date. The Huawei P9 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1 (the Emotion UI from Huawei). This company had unveiled their Huawei P9 smartphone in India yesterday, and along with that device, the company had also released a new version of Huawei Watch in India, a variant with the metal band.

The 3GB RAM variant of the G9 Plus is priced at 2399 Yuan while there is no information about the pricing of the 4GB RAM variant.

The Huawei Mate 9 is also expected to be equipped with highly advanced smartphone features. Besides, it offers WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth and comes with USB Type-C port. The G9 Plus is having the capacitive touchscreen and this phone weighs about 143 grams.

After all the hype, the company has finally launched Huawei P9 in India, on Aug 17. Consumers will also get a 3-month screen replacement warranty as well as pickup and drop service.
