Marcotte, a Leominster native and New York City resident, was killed while out jogging in Princeton near her mother's home on Brooks Station Road on the afternoon of August 7.
Investigators have received more than 600 tips, but no arrests have been announced.
Marcotte will be laid to rest Tuesday morning after a service at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster.
"Her death should not be the headline story".
Marcotte worked for Google in NY as an account manager. She was visiting her mother in the town of Princeton when she chose to take a jog.
Mourners steadily poured into the Brandon Funeral Home yesterday to pay their respects to Vanessa Marcotte, the jogger and Google employee who was brutally murdered in Princeton Aug. 7. Several of the Google account manager's colleagues attended and arrived on a large bus. "The headline story that the entire world needs to see and read is the love that she lived every single day of her life", said O'Brien as he stood before pews filled with Marcotte's loved ones.
Police discovered her body about half a mile from her mother's home.
Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery in Westminster. Her family asked that donations be made to Tutoring Plus of Cambridge, Inc., the Matt Light Foundation for Chrohn's Disease, or the non-profit Harlem Grown in lieu of flowers. They also think that she struggled with her attacker, leading authorities to look for a suspect with fresh scratches, bruises or other cuts.
