"Every company in every industry around the world is now being challenged to transform from being an organization that uses digital technology, to being a digital organization", Judson Althoff, Microsoft's executive vice president for worldwide commercial business, wrote in a blog post.
"Adobe will make Microsoft Azure its preferred cloud platform for the Adobe Marketing Cloud, Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Document Cloud", says the press release, though the press release does not state whether Adobe plans to move its services away from Amazon Web Services where they are now hosted.
It's not the first time that Adobe has partnered with Microsoft when it comes to cloud services.
Adobe already has a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in place, with a case study on the AWS website noting that Adobe uses the cloud infrastructure giant to "provide multi-terabyte operating environments for its customers".
With the partnership, Adobe will make Microsoft's Azure platform the preferred vehicle for offering Adobe's cloud-based marketing and creative services, the companies said in a statement.
Microsoft and $53 billion software company Adobe have announced a partnership that will see the two companies team up to sell each others' cloud computing products to their mutual customers, of whom there are many.
Microsoft is investing in its Dynamics suite in a way not seen before. Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection, a feature of Exchange online which inspects attachments and links, is being extended to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
The company most recently reported $12.1 billion in annualized revenue from commercial cloud products, but hopes to boost that to $20 billion by fiscal 2018. Customers will be able to use these integrations across Adobe and Microsoft solutions to create new data-driven sales and marketing capabilities. This new Adobe deal further extends the reach and capabilities of Dynamics, this time for marketing.
The two companies are also collaborating on data integrations to ensure customers can work across Adobe Marketing Cloud and Dynamics 365 business applications, leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning and advance analytics.
"We will bring together the cloud horsepower and end-to-end capabilities brands need to design and deliver great digital experiences".
