He said the appearance of the auto, seen above in an Autocar image, has been decided and looks "fantastic".
With a wheel base of just over 2.9m, the All-New Discovery can drive through floods up to 900mm deep, an increase of 200mm on the older model.

There are seven seats as before, nine USB sockets plus an extra four 12-volt outlets, and up to 2406 litres of luggage space. The shift in design has given the Discovery a much needed dynamic appearance.
All five rear seats can be configured independently through Land Rover's new Intelligent Seat Fold technology, a program that can be accessed remotely using an Apple or Android smartphone.

To help manoeuver through the toughest routes, Land Rover's Terrain Response 2 System gets six preset modes which include General driving, Grass, Gravel and Snow, Mud and Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl.
