Three men died at the scene.
Three people were killed and at least 12 others have been injured, Sgt. Preciado said, though the numbers were still preliminary because some of the victims were transported to hospital by private vehicles.
According to witnesses, the shooting occurred after an argument inside Dilly's Kitchen, a Jamaican eatery operating out of a converted home.
A man and woman left, then returned, and the restaurant erupted in gunfire.
Police say a party was underway at the time of the shooting and investigators believe the gunfire may be tied toa drug deal involving some of the guests at the party.
"It's a bloody scene with shell casings everywhere", he added.
One of the dead was the man who got into an argument with the suspects. Two of the wounded were released and the others remain hospitalized with wounds are not considered life-threatening.

"Bullets don't have names on them", she said.
Police earlier questioned two possible suspects, but Lopez said later no one was in custody. "We had multiple people with gunshot wounds", Preciado said. They said other party-goers may have returned fire in the direction of the suspects.
The incident happened at 12:30 a.m. PT on Saturday when police responded to numerous calls of a shooting in the 2900 block of Rimpau Boulevard, which is located in South Los Angeles. The restaurant owner, identified only as Dilly by the Los Angeles Times, is fully cooperating with police.
Mayor Eric Garcetti said in a statement that the shooting was "the latest example of a senseless gun violence epidemic that causes so much pain and sorrow in our city and across the nation". "We must take action against easy access to firearms and the thoughtless, indiscriminate, murderous use of them".
