Over the weekend, Rockstar surprised a lot of folks by posting an image with their logo on a red background. "Red Dead Redemption" was more serious in tone than the "GTA" games, and is widely lauded for some of the finest storytelling that video games - as a medium - offer.
It has been six years now, and RDR fans are still waiting eagerly for Red Dead Redemption 2 release. On Sunday morning, Rockstar updated its official Facebook and Twitter accounts with the above image: a worn and faded Rockstar logo against a deep-red background. The game is set in the year 1911, and it follows the adventures of John Marston - a former outlaw - through the American Frontier. It is a game which Rockstar can develop easily as it does not demand many technicalities.
We awarded Red Dead Redemption a massive 9.7 review when it arrived in 2010, and went on to name it the 29th best game of all time. The person added the name Red Dead Retribution to the element and posted it. The game has you playing in a third-person perspective as you ramble through 1911's Mexico and western United States. As well, there is an online multiplayer mode that allows 16 players to take part in the same game. So, that is why social media has gone mad after the recent publication.
It'll be interesting to see what they do to move the series forward with new hardware in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With Rockstar teasing so much about the game, we will definitely hear more about it in the near future. A developer named Angel Studios originally worked on the game for publisher Capcom, but Rockstar Games bought Angel Studios (which was renamed Rockstar San Diego) and the rights to Red Dead Revolver in 2002.
