The league's new television agreements with ESPN/ABC and Fox will include a package of six prime-time Friday games starting in 2017, Commissioner Jim Delany told the Tribune on Wednesday. The Wolverines said they will not play on Friday night, home or away.
There will also be 12 Saturday night primetime games.

Rudner said the conference expects to announce the 2017 Friday night schedule within the next week. There were 53 games on that night in 2014, 63 in 2015 and 65 this year. It will certainly give more prime-time opportunities to Maryland, which played a Friday night game against Florida International on CBS Sports Network earlier this season but has otherwise had only two prime-time appearances at home since joining the Big Ten in 2014. MI and Penn State already have declined to host Friday night games on their campuses.
The OHSAA announced last summer that it was moving Division I playoff games to Fridays in November to avoid a conflict with Ohio State and the Big Ten football schedule. The league is likely only going to expand from there, and it's a bad idea.
