CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Wake Forest's game against Notre Dame in 2020 is moving to Charlotte.
Panthers quarterback Cam Newton says the NFL's referees are missing illegal hits on him.
"He didn't blink", Newton said.
Cam Newton asked and received his audience with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. I got my point across, he got his point across. Many make the point he gets hit so much because he runs so much. "That's it", Newton said earlier Wednesday at his weekly news conference.
The hit did not draw a flag, but the league has since admitted Campbell should have been penalized for roughing the passer. "That's not where we want to be", Blandino told PFT Live. "We'll address that with the crews going forward".
"I just can't keep accepting, "Oh, we missed that one, ' or 'I apologize for doing that" or 'I didn't see it, '" Newton said.
The Panthers visit the Rams on Sunday.
"It was a great discussion, great talk", Newton said.
Newton clarified that he understands he'll be hit when he leaves the pocket, but that is not what he's asking to be officiated more tightly.
"There are hits - illegal hits - that are missed in every game", he said, "Across the league, it happens all the time".
"It's amusing how a lot of people have a lot to say", Newton said, according to the Associated Press. When I'm running the football, I'm on my own. I mean, duh. I'm fine with that.
"The nice part was the commissioner was a willing listener", Rivera said Tuesday.
". Any time somebody hears you or you're being heard - obviously with a person his magnitude, I respect that. And I believe I did". We ended on good terms, started on good terms, as well. "It's about being treated the same".
It is s steep price to pay for a play that was not even flagged on the field.
Panthers tight end Greg Olsen has been saying for years that Newton simply doesn't get the same calls as other quarterbacks. ". I'm not going to go into details about what we talked about because it was a confidential conversation". He understands the rules for protection change when he scrambles and becomes a runner. "But when you're not protected in the pocket, that's another thing".
