His funeral will be held at the church tomorrow morning starting at 10:00 a.m.
Martin, 24, attended high school in Rockwell City, and had joined the Urbandale Police Department just previous year.
Scott Michael Greene is accused of shooting and killing two Iowa police officers.
14 year old Yore Jieng will be laid to rest this weekend as police still look for his killer. Greene was arrested earlier in the day and charged with first-degree murder.
Wingert was visibly angry as he discussed the shootings, which claimed the lives of Sgt. Anthony Beminio, one of his officers, and Justin Martin, a rookie officer from neighboring Urbandale.
The man charged with killing two Iowa police officers is behind bars.
Greene was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
If convicted in the killings, Greene faces an automatic life sentence, with no chance of parole.
According to police, the investigation has produced probable cause to support these charges.
Greene was released from a hospital Thursday, and he was arrested later in the day after detectives questioned him at the Des Moines police station.
Over the years, he'd had a string of run-ins with police and a history of racially charged encounters with African-Americans. Court records show that he has another daughter who is an adult, and the Iowa National Guard confirmed Thursday that his 26-year-old son is a Guard member.
On Thursday, Scott Michael Greene was arrested and charged with two counts of murder after authorities found enough evidence to buttress the charges, police said.
The local community was already mourning the loss of two other Des Moines officers who died in a auto crash while on duty on March 26.
Hapgood says the guard has offered Sgt. Greene a list of possible resources that may be helpful during a family crisis, but that he has not asked for any "specific accommodations at this time".
Scott Michael Greene, 46, made his first court appearance on Friday morning.
Green was apprehended Wednesday, hours after Des Moines Sgt. Anthony Beminio and Urbandale officer Justin Martin were killed.

The officers were killed between 1 and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, about 2 miles apart, while sitting in their patrol cars. Police say they have recovered a rifle that was believed to be used in the shootings.
Donations can also be made in each officer's name at The Des Moines Police Officers' Credit Union, at 423 E. Court Ave., Des Moines, 50309. Martin's body was seated in his squad vehicle, at an Urbandale intersection just northwest of Des Moines, Parizek said.
On July 7, a gunman shot and killed five police officers in Dallas during a protest of controversial police shootings of black men in other states.
In 2014, Greene pleaded guilty to interference with official acts in an incident involving police.
Investigators don't know of a motive in Wednesday's shootings, Parizek said.
Greene was having serious money problems, and a judge said he had physically hit and exploited his mother financially.
Greene's daughters, Madison Greene, 15, and Sammie Greene, 25, both watched the hearing from a live video feed in a viewing area.
All across the country, our police officers go to work each day not knowing whether they'll come home at night. A few days later, his mother asked for a protection order against her son for abuse and financial exploitation.
Police say the suspect, Scott Greene, turned himself in hours later and was hospitalized.
Greene's auto was found Wednesday bogged down in a wooded area, Parizek said, and authorities also found a rifle they believe was used in the attacks.
"At the end of his junior season, we got beaten in the playoffs, we were pretty dejected", he said, but Beminio's reaction was, "Coach, can we start lifting tomorrow?"
