Dishonored 2 first update arrives next week with New Game Plus mode

Bethesda announced today that the first free update for Dishonored 2 with the mode of New Game Plus will be available worldwide starting from Monday, December 19th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and released today in beta on PC. Then you have the opportunity to re-assign the Runes to experiment with new powers.

New Game + or New Game Plus - or whatever you want to call it; you say po-tay-to, I say po-tah-to - is usually seen as a relatively cheap and non-labour intensive way for developers to squeeze a bit more life out of their release.

"Dishonored players have asked for it, so now New Game Plus is here for Dishonored 2".

Dishonored 2's been out for over a month, but the fun doesn't stop once you've beaten the game as Corvo and Emily.

As expected, the Dishonored 2 New Game Plus lets you start a new playthrough with all the Bonecharm Traits and Runes that have already been collected. Arkane hasn't announced any plans for paid DLC expansions like it did with the first game, but it may not need any if these free updates continue. These include a mission select option and customisable difficulty settings, which you'll be able to tailor to your playstyle and "adjust the challenge based on a wide array of settings". Combining powers in useful/disturbing ways is one of the greatest pleasures of the Dishonored series and this literally doubles your options! More info on that update will come in the future weeks.
