Similar ultrasound bills have been introduced before in Kentucky, but never managed to make it out of committee until Wednesday. That bill also moves to the full Kentucky Senate for consideration, and Senate leaders expect a vote by the end of the week.
People opposed to the new abortion restrictions that are swiftly making their way through the Kentucky legislature this week will rally at the Capitol at 1 p.m. Thursday as the Senate convenes to consider a 20-week ban on the controversial procedure.

While Kentucky's bill passed easily, some supporters criticized the new House leadership for pushing the legislation through so quickly that it might open the state to a lawsuit if, as expected, the bill becomes law.

In his testimony, Adkisson noted the Chamber's strong support for right-to-work legislation and drew from his economic development experience, explaining that during his time as mayor of Owensboro and his tenure as the head of the Birmingham, Alabama Chamber he saw many prospects turn away from Kentucky because of the lack of a right-to-work law.
"We're certainly planning on being really busy this session".
The bill would make Kentucky a right to work state. They include bills that would ban mandatory labor union membership, repeal the state's prevailing wage law, forbid abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy and release more information about lawmakers' pension benefits.
