Washington Post makes big error on women's cover

All in all, it's embarrassing-and it probably reveals that the art and copy edit team at the Washington Post Express needs a few more women on it-but not a disaster. In this particular case, it applies to The Washington Post's free daily newspaper's decision to feature a cover story of the women who have organized the Women's March on Washington on its January 5 edition. Express issued a different cover with the female symbol.

"Is this some kind of record for largest typo", tweeted Sam Thielman.

Social media users were quick to spot the mistake.

A minute later, the newspaper posted the correct version on Twitter and Facebook.

The Washington Post's publication Express mistakenly used the male symbol when featuring a story on the Women's March on Washington, a widely organized group of women's rights supporters planning to protest Trump's administration the day after inauguration. But if you look at the cover to the tabloid-format paper, you might catch that there's one problem with the image they used to illustrate this display of woman-led power. "Good job on copping to the mistake".

Express eventually deleted its tweet publicizing the cover, and quickly apologized.
