"You earn respect through performance". What are they? Here we go. "They are great on offense, for sure".
Something had to give with Arizona allowing just 61 points a game and UCLA scoring 93 a game.
When Trier came into the game he looked poised and despite missing his first 3-point attempt, he was able to play within the framework of the team and not cause too many waves by forcing his own production. Others have stepped up in his absence though, and Arizona is 16-2 and 5-0 in the Pac-12 heading into road games this week at USC and UCLA.
"They (the Bruins) have a good team", said Markkanen, who had seven rebounds and no turnovers in 32 minutes.
That confidence showed throughout the entire team, as they landed a huge, marquee victory. A coast-to-coast layup by Allonzo Trier - in his first game back after a PED suspension - put the Wildcats up 48-37 going into the break.
The Bulldogs (17-3, 6-2 Big East) trailed by as many as 20 points and led for only 1:41 in the game.
No. 17 WISCONSIN 78, MINNESOTA 76, OT: At Minneapolis, Ethan Happ scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Wisconsin.
Ky Bowman scored 21 of his career-high-matching 33 points in the first half and Jerome Robinson finished with 18 for Boston College (9-11, 2-5), which has dropped three straight games and five of six. Forward Rawle Alkins and reserve forward Chase Comanche had 10 points apiece.
In Manhattan, Kan., Kamau Stokes and Barry Brown each scored 13 points to help Kansas State (15-4, 4-3 Big 12) rally to upset West Virginia (15-4, 4-3).
Steve Alford said he'd like to see the Bruins' defensive efficiency - which represents the number of points allowed per 100 possessions - in the mid 90s or, at worst, the high 90s. On film, they looked good.
The Wildcats were athletic, quick and unselfish, and the result Saturday was hardly a surprise to them, even if the national audience had yet to catch on.
A source told ESPN that Trier was in a serious auto accident over the summer, and the Trier camp told the NCAA that someone close to his family gave him the drug - without his knowledge - to help him recover from injuries suffered in the accident.
The defending national champion Wildcats have won five in a row since their only loss at Butler on January 4.
(11) OR 69, Stanford 52: In Eugene, Ore., Chris Boucher had 16 points and 10 rebound as the Ducks rolled.
"We knew how high our ceiling was", said Simmons, who was matched against Ball much of the game. As we got bumped out, each and every game we keep grinding out. "That just makes it great for our team". Markkanen then got a three-point play and Arizona built a 92-83 lead with 39 seconds left.
Not only has Trier been practicing all season, but Miller said Trier was cleared by the NCAA to begin traveling for the Wildcats' Dec. 3 game with Gonzaga in Los Angeles.
Marcus Foster scored 30 points to lead the Bluejays (18-2, 5-2), who were playing their first full game without star point guard Maurice Watson Jr., who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee Monday against Xavier.
In the second half, after UCLA had clawed back to within five, Trier beat the Bruins down the court to deliver a powerful dunk in transition.
Miller was able to use the additional body to provide more rest for players which seems to have curbed the second half blues Arizona has recently struggled with so much.
