According to reports, the magazine's Swimsuit issue, set to be released on Monday, will include three covers starring tennis champ Serena Williams, 63-year-old supermodel Christie Brinkley, and Upton - for now.
Christy Brinkley is back on the pages of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition, this time with her daughters. Christie looks hot in red swimsuit, while her 31-year-old daughter Alexa Ray Joel rocks black bra and sexy panties.
"I've had issues with my body image since before I can even remember".
Brinkley was known for her three consecutive Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covers in 1979, 1980 and 1981, which was unheard of back then. I've looked in the mirror and been able to LOVE the things about my body that beauty norms deem 'undesirable.' I now have grown to know that my body is worthy of so many great things. Note how she gently levitates above the water while striking a pose next to her two daughters, who, like most other humans, must wade through the ocean instead of resting on its surface.
To crack the case, though, all you have to do is read Brinkley's Instagram caption. She looks terrific and as lovely as ever and still owns it in a swimsuit.
"I thought, 'Those days are over, '" she said. She's seen her daughters struggle with the same insecurities so to get to do this with them was very special for all of them. "And I'm still new at this and I was just trying to maintain my focus". "No way!'" she told People. "No way!'" she told People, but the idea of shooting with her kids changed her mind.
Aging and body image aside, the most important thing is that Brinkley had a positive experience with her girls.
A Sports Illustrated representative seemingly denied any drama surrounding the 2017 covers, telling Page Six, "It's that time of year again". "Women feel very limited by their numbers".
