Rosie O'Donnell: I'll play Bannon on 'SNL' if asked

Rosie O'Donnell says she's ready to serve her country.

Over the weekend, Melissa McCarthy rallied the anti-Trump Internet masses with her spot-on SNL impression of White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

The feud between Trump and O'Donnell stretches back at least a decade.

"[Trump] left the first wife, had an affair". And, lest we forget, O'Donnell also does a pretty great Trump.

While McCarthy's turn as Spicer was well received on social media - the "SNL" clip now claims more than 16 million views on YouTube - Politico reported that the impression of the Trump staffer, compete with gum-eating, significant "pushback" towards the press and the added bonus of some podium-ramming, may have been damaging to Spicer in the eyes of Trump. Bannon's relationship with Trump was lampooned in the latest episode's cold open as he encouraged the Donald to alienate allied nations in a series of impromptu phone calls.

Among other insults, Trump has referred to O'Donnell "a real loser", "a true loser", a "pig", "a total trainwreck", "crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb", and "my nice fat little Rosie".

"I said very tough things to her, and I think everybody would agree that she deserves it and nobody feels sorry for her", Trump said. O'Donnell would be an even more effective choice, what with the rumors that it was "Spicer's portrayal by a woman that was most problematic in the president's eyes".

Spicer has largely laughed off McCarthy's send-up of him.

On the most recent episode of SNL, Bannon was portrayed as a Grim Reaper-like ghoul who's actually the president.
