"Big Bang Theory" spinoff, "Young Sheldon", has officially been ordered by CBS. The show was also created by Chuck Lorre & Steven Molaro.
Reading this news release, you got the feeling that this idea was little more than something someone scribbled onto a napkin at lunchtime -"'Big Bang' spinoff idea: "Sheldon as a kid. Iain Armitage has been selected to play the role of the young and nerdy Sheldon Cooper. Jim Parsons will narrate as an adult Sheldon, calling to mind other famous single camera comedy narrators like Ron Howard ("Arrested Development") and Daniel Stern ("The Wonder Years").
Throughout the ten seasons of the critically-acclaimed comedy, plentiful references to Sheldon's childhood in rural Texas have been offered, particularly regarding the cultural clashes between his scientific mind, and his deeply religious upbringing.
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Their roles were still kept under radar but several media sources revealed that Barber will be playing Sheldon's father, Jordan will be portraying George Jr. and Revord will be playing Missy. The drama will reportedly take on a concept of the TV show "Malcolm in the Middle". "I think it will be very different than Big Bang, but in a good way", he added. According to rumors, a new two-year deal is being drafted, suggesting The Big Bang Theory will continue for two more years before the final season.
