TIGER Woods has won his first trophy for four years... a putting competition against a US TV host on Good Morning America.
Woods was on Good Morning America this week, chatting it up and saying he'd love to play the Masters Tournament in a couple of weeks.
We're not doctors, but Tiger, who hasn't played since withdrawing from the Dubai Desert Classic on February 3 with back spasms, looked pretty spry. It was the first major that I ever played, back in '95.
The 14-time Major victor appeared in a suit on breakfast TV to promote a new book to mark the 20 anniversary of his spectacular Masters victory in 1997. I love that event, it's meant so much to me in my life. "I'm trying to get back and play". He missed the cut at Torrey Pines in January and clearly needed more time to rediscover his form, yet his physical condition has kept him from being able to put in the practice time. The mind is sharp, I just need to get the body willing to do it.
Tiger Woods gave a quick wave with his right hand, took off a windbreaker to reveal a gray long-sleeved Nike shirt, took his seat and waited for the onslaught of fans to make their way to the table where he would hold court for the next hour and change. "The source added that all Woods has been able to do of late is putt". Getting the prep time.
"Because I know how to prepare for it, and I know the golf course, I know where to miss it, I know where to play from, I know where the advantages are", he said, according to USA Today.
Tiger Woods' agent Mark Steinberg issued an update on Woods' rehab Friday night while slapping down a story published earlier in the day by Golf World. "My kids now dominate my life, and that's a good thing". I'm going to assume this won't have a profound impact on Masters odds, which now has Woods at 125-1 to win the tournament in less than three weeks. "Hes gotten treatments and is progressing and hoping he can do it. Theres not been a decision one way or the other".
