Trump told lawmakers at the reception that he would be talking about infrastructure and investing in the military, without offering a time frame or details.

Ivanka Trump has been discussing job training opportunities with CEOS for some time, starting with meetings she held before her father took office.

Ivanka Trump said on Wednesday she would work in the White House in an unpaid, informal advisory role to the president as she sought to allay ethics concerns about working there. And since she's not technically a government employee, she's not technically subject to ethics rules that apply to government employees.

A White House official confirmed last week that, after a few months settling into Washington, Trump was officially moving into a West Wing office and would obtain top-secret security clearance.

Trump attorney Jamie Gorelick said she will file the financial disclosures required of federal employees and will be bound by ethics rules.

The New York Times broke the news this afternoon that Ivanka Trump will become an official government employee and will have the title of "Assistant to the President" in her unpaid position.

She is relinquishing control of her lifestyle brand, but is retaining ownership.

Ivanka Trump has advised her father on women's issues and has already sat in on meetings with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The first daughter is seen as a rising power in the young administration. "It definitely complicates matters when someone who can't be fired - aka a family member - is this involved in an administration", she said.
