Apple just completed the finishing touches of its 10th anniversary iPhone, and it's now testing the overhauled handset.
Like its rival Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, which arrive on the market Friday, Apple's next iPhone could feature a curved-edge screen face that's almost bezel free, various sources have reported. iPhone fans might also have to drop more cash than usual for Apple's newest phone, which is rumored to be priced in the $1,000 range. It had been assumed that the Touch ID unit would be placed underneath the device's display.
"There's a strong case for it from a design perspective", he told TechNewsWorld. Even the name of the device is in question, with some reports indicating it could be dubbed the iPhone X (with X being the Roman numeral for 10, and this year being the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone). OLED displays are brighter, more flexible, and consume less power than conventional LED screens.
Apple Inc is likely to pay graphics chip designer Imagination Technologies just one third of its current royalty rate as the smartphone giant wind downs their supply deal over the next two years, UBS estimated on Wednesday.
"Apple's commitment to 100% recycled materials is ambitious, and highlights the need for greater urgency across the sector to reduce resource consumption and e-waste that are causing significant impacts on the environment and human health", Gary Cook, Greenpeace's Senior IT Analyst, said in a statement.
Apple did not disclose the amount of recycled products now used in its products.
"Steel also weighs more than aluminum, so it must be used more sparingly to keep the phone light", he pointed out.
This goal is further in the future, but it's something Apple says it is moving toward. The design change could result in better photos.

One thing Apple hasn't been able to get rid of yet, though, is the bump created by the rear-facing camera.
Apple reportedly releasing new iPhones these coming months. Now, the company may try to use the modules for augmented reality. It is because iPhone users are used to position their thumb where the home button is as they slide it out of their pocket.
Three new iPhone models could appear in Apple's lineup this fall, including "a new top-of-the-line handset with an overhauled look", according to Bloomberg.
Expensive iPhone 8 not factored in?
"It's becoming much more hard to differentiate in the smartphone market", observed David McQueen, a research director at ABI Research.
A recycled iPhone, in other words.
