"I wish only the best for Fox News Channel".
Vatican spokesman Greg Burke confirmed O'Reilly was in the VIP section for the pope's Wednesday appearance.
O'Reilly's pugnacious personality wasn't just an off-screen affectation, with one of the settlements going to a woman who complained about being shouted at in the newsroom.
A group of women demonstrated outside Fox News' headquarters on Tuesday and another woman, who was a former clerical worker at Fox, called a harassment hotline to accuse the 21-year Fox veteran of inappropriate behavior.

O'Reilly's name has not only been scrubbed from the show's logo, but also from the Fox News website. He still went ahead and signed a new contract with Fox, however.

Bill O'Reilly may be officially leaving Fox News, but he is not departing the network quietly after many allegations against him.
Earlier this month, O'Reilly was the subject of a New York Times report that detailed how he and Fox News paid about $13 million to settle complaints from five women who had worked for him or appeared on his show. I think for some they will view O'Reilly as toxic in the short-term. His departure is a significant blow to the Fox News lineup, which dominated the prime-time cable news ratings.
And he keeps echoing in the broader media landscape.
But O'Reilly has been on Fox News for more than two decades.
"He helped shape the kind of very polarized discourse that has come to define politics over the past few years in America", Hollihan said.
Estimates are that "The O'Reilly Factor" pulled in around $140 million in national TV advertising, according to iSpot.tv.
"The O'Reilly Factor" has been the most watched programme on Fox News and was coming off the highest-rated first quarter in its history, averaging 4 million viewers, according to Nielsen. And I said, well if you mean he's a neanderthal, then we're on the same page. After the Pope's traditional Wednesday address, O'Reilly shook hands with Francis.
Last year, Carlson played a significant role in the resignation of former Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes, who was accused of sexually harassing dozens of women during his tenure. These included Mitsubishi Motors, which spent about $2.1 million for ads on O'Reilly's show in 2016, making it the show's fifth-largest advertiser.
Bill O'Reilly's primetime news and talk show guaranteed a good dose of strong outspoken conservative politics, mixed in with a fair bit of "I told you so" from the host, occasionally a visit from candidate Donald Trump and more recently President Trump.
O'Reilly had ruled the "no spin zone" on television with a quick smile and an even quicker temper. The only way to know for sure is to be on the inside; from an outside point of view, the appearance is deeply troubling. "Were they watching?" Noah wondered.
