Blizzard co-founder Mike Morhaime revealed that the PC version of Destiny 2 will use its Battle.net app, meaning that it should be fairly easy to hop into the game with friends made in Hearthstone, World of Warcraft, Overwatch or the other Blizzard games.
It also ensures that those who poured thousands of hours into Destiny 1 don't spend the first few months dominating the Crucible while everyone else catches up.
We're not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie we're totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can. As for locations, we're looking at Earth, Titan, Nessus, and Io this time around. Smith said we should hear more news on a PC release date in the coming weeks.
Destiny 2 will launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 8, but the news of how players would access the new game on PC was up in the air until today. PC graphics performance information is largely speculation at this point, but the listed PC options and features is a good sign. This allows players to set up a Clan group with customised team banners and all.
You'll be able to launch any new activity straight from the map, without having to go into orbit first. Destiny 2's servers and customer service will all be maintained by Bungie, but it'll be integrated into many of Blizz's existing social features like chat, and adding friends or forming parties.
To further get some answers on the matter, Video Game Awards host Geoff Keighley took to Twitter, indicating that the PC version of Destiny 2 could come at a later time as well.
During the May live stream even of the gameplay, Bungie has revealed the first ever Destiny 2 game series including the extended look of the story mission known as "Homecoming".
There are still a lot of questions up in the air about the PC version of Destiny 2, including what the system requirements will be and if you'll have the ability to transfer your characters from console to PC.
Until then, check out the exciting gameplay reveal trailer below. The game is also expected to be released on PC via Battle.net.
