Virender Sehwag always kept it simple during his playing days and the former Indian opener has adopted the same approach while applying for the post of the national team's coach. The others are Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody, former Pakistan and Bangladesh coach Richard Pybus, and former India cricketers Dodda Ganesh and Lalchand Rajput. But as per latest reports, Sehwag sent in a two-line application in his unique style for the widely-sought and prestigious role of India's head coach. The BCCI has asked Sehwag to send them a detailed application and a full CV. However, the Aussie is undaunted by that or any type of pressure comes to an Indian team coach. "After all, it will be the first time he is set to appear for the interview", a source told The Indian Express. News also came in that former Australia pacer Craig McDermott had applied for the India coach's job, but won't be eligible for the interview as his application came to the BCCI email id after the deadline.
"There was no CV attached to it", he added.
Sehwag, being one of the most famous cricketers, has huge number of followers on Twitter. There is a reason for it.
An expert in the art of 140-character barbs, Sehwag has been pretty much hitting it out of the park with some of his tweets.
Will he get the job post the Champions Trophy is the question whose answer we will know soon.
Anil Kumble, who is the current coach of the Indian side, had an extremely successful season with the team after taking over past year.
His two-line resume makes us wonder if he is really interested in taking up the job.
