Hayward was one of the most sought-after free agents this off-season because of his age and performance last campaign. They certainly appeared to be the best landing spot for Hayward.
The 27-year-old will join the Celitcs to reunite with Boston head coach Brad Stevens, who coached him in college at Butler. Some surmised the news leaked before Hayward had a chance to speak to the Jazz about his decision, leaving the forward and his camp to clean the mess before making things official. Has he already decided on a team or is Hayward still pondering the thought? Reports indicated the Celtics were among those vying for each of the star players.
Boston's projected starting lineup with Hayward is something to behold in the eastern conference.
The meeting with the Jazz is the last in Hayward's free agency tour, after making stops in Miami on Saturday and Boston on Sunday.
Now, after the basketball world waited for that initial report, it's back to waiting again for Hayward to make a final decision. Wherever Hayward chose, he was going to end up in a nice situation.
