PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Getting FOV Slider In July Update

Servers hosting this mode will appropriately be referred to as "hardcore servers" in-game. That has not stopped the development team from continuing to improve the title, though, with the addition of the first-person only server just one of many examples.

In PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, using the third-person camera to peek around corners while you remain comfortably out of harm's way is key to survival.

In PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, players are allowed to freely switch between third-person view and first-person view.

Now, it appears that this month's update, likely out in two weeks, will include the FOV slider and the anticipated and often requested first-person servers. Instead of hiding behind cover and scoping an area as many players do, first person mode will be sure to keep players on edge even more than the game does already.

Implementing a mode that is strictly played from a first-person perspective should do a lot to make the game much more tactical, especially in duo and squad modes.

I can't imagine playing an entire match in first-person, personally.

Bluehole Studio has announced that a FOV slider will be coming to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in the next monthly update. "You will not be forced to play on 1st person servers", he said.
