No director has been attached to the upcoming sequel, but it could very well be Jolie herself. It's not something I wanted.

Jolie says her next project will most likely be a sequel to 2014's Maleficent, and that she's also seen a script for the much talked-about Cleopatra, though she hasn't committed to anything. No additional details concerning plot or an expected release date have been announced.
