Simpson told KOIN 6 News he was also 13 when he said the abuse started and it continued until he was 18 years old. It allegedly lasted for a year. His mother had died.
I commend all individuals and organizations - including Danni Askini of the Gender Justice League, the City of Seattle's LGBTQ Commission and Human Rights Commission, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), and Councilmember Gonzalez - who showed courage and leadership in calling on Murray to resign.

Dyer claims his own abuse stopped after another boy at a Catholic group home complained Murray had abused him. A spokeswoman at the group home, which still operates, confirmed to the Times that Murray worked for them from June 4, 1975 to August 29, 1976, but she said she discovered no records showing why he left. The Seattle Times also offers a run down of some of the other men who have accused Murray of abuse.
"The City must focus on governance and day-to-day business without distraction", Harrell said. "I have a plan in place for a seamless transition in order for City operations to continue at the highest standard". He has accused the mayor of forcing him to have sex when he was 13.
"You've never been willing to portray anything but one side of the story", he said.
She said in a statement: "Thank you to Mayor Murray for his years of public service. I guess they see me down and out, and they want to finish me off", Murray told the paper.
On Tuesday, Simpson said, "If nothing else happens, and nothing else comes of it, for me, I will be OK". While another man said Murray sexually abused him when he was drug-addicted and a homeless teen.
"In the professional judgement of this caseworker who has interviewed numerous children of all ages and of all levels of emotional disturbance regarding sexual abuse", the report read, "Jeff Simpson has been sexually abused by..."
Ms. Moon, in a statement, thanked Mr. Murray for "finally stepping up and doing the right thing".
The mayor has vehemently denied all of those accusations, at times suggesting that they were politically motivated, and refused repeated calls to step down, but in May said he would not seek re-election. He withdrew that lawsuit, but is claiming the city owes him damages because Murray used his office to defame him.
