On Wednesday's episode of Megyn Kelly Today, the former Fox anchor sat down with screen legends Jane Fonda and Robert Redford to discuss their upcoming film, Our Souls at Night-or at least that's what the actors were told they'd be discussing.
Kelly began by talking to Redford about his Hollywood career highlights and his iconic role as Hubble in The Way We Were.
Do you believe that Kelly will get celebs to show up during her talk show segment or will the freaky controversies she managed to create so fast already get her show canceled?
Jane appeared annoyed at the question.
"I think she's got the eyes of the world upon her and I think everybody can relate to how nerve-wracking that is", said Guthrie, 45, after a caller asked her thoughts on Kelly's show.
"Well, one of the things people think about when they look at you is how incredible you look", Kelly said, trying to smooth things over.
"People who know my history with Bob, and most popularly Barefoot in the Park, are very fond of the idea of the two of us together again", Fonda says of their new film together. Good attitude. Good posture.
"I think I've asked that question, too", Guthrie said.
During the segment, Kelly surprised the cast with a "superfan" in the audience named Russell Turner.
She added, "The danger with surgery is you say: 'Oh this is good, let me do more.' It can be an addiction".
Kelly then attempted to change tack by mentioning that she was admired Fonda, saying: "One of the things people think about you when they look at you is how incredible you look".
The uneven first week for Megyn Kelly TODAY continues.
"Honestly I didn't know it was MK until that morning", Messing wrote.
Fonda, 79, told Ellen DeGeneres that she wished her sex scene with Redford was longer.
During an interview with soccer player and Olympic gold medalist Carli Lloyd on Thursday, a cameraman accidentally stepped into frame while Lloyd was speaking.
