"So sad about Tom Petty, he made some great music".
UPDATE at 9:30 AM ET on October 3: Tom Petty died on Monday, October 2 after suffering cardiac arrest, the musician's longtime manager, Tony Dimitriades, confirmed to The New York Times. He has died peacefully surrounded by his beloved family, bandmates and friends according to a statement released on his twitter account.
Petty was also a co-founder of the Traveling Wilburys group in the late 1980s, touring with Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne and George Harrison.
Hetty's daughter Kimberly told me that her far was not dead yet, following news from Instagram account, and in extremely harsh statements, se lies denounced people who were in news. "He was a friend, and I will never forget", he said.
Petty was the rare musician whose songs became intimately woven into the fabric of American life and who seemed to maintain his popularity from one generation to the next. "I thought the world of Tom".
Petty played his last show last Monday, performing three sold-out gigs at the Hollywood Bowl to conclude their 40th anniversary tour. Petty did not actually pass away until nearly Midnight EST on Monday, and when he went he was surrounded by those who loved him most. He earned his first hit in 1977 with "Breakdown", and went on to record other smash hits like "I Won't Back Down" and "Free Fallin'". "I'm thinking it may be the last trip around the country", Petty told Rolling Stone a year ago. He had said it was likely to be their last.
Petty once said, "I'd like to see us break some new ground and leave some sort of mark on the music".
The music industry has lost another legend. I wanted to hold up on posting something because there were a lot of reports he died, then didn't and was clinging on to his life.
