Trump's remarks also come just days after his recent visit to Puerto Rico following the devastating Hurricane Maria drew sharp criticism over his "condescending" remarks and "shameful" paper towel throwing during the trip. And during an appearance on MSNBC's AM Joy this morning, Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) slammed the president for apparently trying to get a few laughs while Puerto Rico is struggling.
While the moment garnered chuckles from attendees at the speech, it didn't take long for Trump's presumed mockery of the Spanish language and Puerto Rican people to spark heavy criticism online.
Trump replied: "We have the world's great military people in this room, I will tell you that".
"And we are martialing every federal resource at our disposal".
"I think this is a president who is living in a constant reality TV show". "I don't see any hands". He said: "You'll find out".
He's pretty much managed to insult an entire nation again.
"While O'Brien believes that Trump connects with people by" keeping mysteries alive", that doesn't calm the worries coming from the speculation that Trump is about to launch some type of storm. "You're an embarrassment. Just stop".
North Korea fired a missile over Japan last month and tested a hydrogen bomb, prompting Trump to insist that "all options were on the table" in an implied threat of pre- emptive military action.
He said in another one of his Twitter rants that "only one thing will work" when it comes to dealing with North Korea.
"Hasn't worked, agreements violated before the ink was dry, making fools of USA negotiators".
Mr Trump visited the United States territory earlier this week to meet with Puerto Rican officials.
