"We know that there were issues with the distribution of water for the first match day of the Federation Internationale de Football Association U-17 World Cup India 2017 in New Delhi".
India's hopes went up in smoke after coming agonizingly close to scoring their first ever World Cup goal.
Though India vs Colombia clash is going to be an important match, one should not ignore the other matches on Monday. "But, we proved today we can play at this level and I am proud of the commitment the players showed on the pitch", Matos told the post-match press conference.
The glaring exclusion from India's starting XI were forwards Aniket Jadhav and Komal Thatal, who both had a good outing against USA.
The match began with both Colombia and India playing a procession of long balls from defence to forward in order to find a breakthrough.
Restrepo was all praise for India's centre backs Anwar Ali and Namit Deshpande and said their performance forced him to opt for Plan B.
The first half was goal-less.
Later, Indian goalkeeper Dheeraj rose to the occasion making critical saves, denying Colombian Leandro Campaz in the 36th minute and Yadir Meneses in the 41st minute.
The score at half-time remained 0-0, with 68% possession dominated by the away side.
That encouraging first half had the Indian fans anticipating even better things after the break. Colombia took it to their advantage and advanced time and again on the flanks, where the hosts left spaces wide open for the opponents to attack.
"India were very organised at the back against the U.S., they conceded an unfortunate penalty otherwise they would have made things more hard for the US", said Restrepo before Colombia's practice session on Friday.
India responded by scoring the equaliser from a corner delivered by Sanjeev Stalin which was headed in by Jeakson, who was left unmarked at the near post. Penaloza had already netted in the 49th minute and his second sealed the match 2-1 for Colombia. On Friday too, India had failed to score after the ball hit the woodwork.
