"Are the best wireless headphones comparable to the best of the wired?"
OnePlus looks set to follow the schedule it established past year and introduce an iterative update to its flagship smartphone six months after launch. In it, Lau confirmed the phone's name and a presence of a headphone jack: "Nearly 80 per cent of our users use in-jack headphones", he said, "is it worth the trade off?"
An image posted by OnePlus on Twitter on Wednesday, also provided a strong indication that the upcoming phone will be called the OnePlus 5T. A leaked image from GizChina indicated the launch date for the 5T. OnePlus is following the bezel-less and curved glass display trend which is seen in all the recently launched smartphone devices. OnePlus 5 was one of the best smartphones of 2017 which have shaped the future of smartphone industry.
The OnePlus 5T smartphone is expected to come with a 6-inch display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. In the post, Pete Lau dives deeper into the company's decision to keep the 3.5mm jack around. The advantage to this move it that going with USB-C would allow for a thinner device. That's basically what Google had to do last month, when it removed the Pixel's headphone jack just a year after, yes, mocking Apple for getting rid of it. Although OnePlus' reputation is built on responding to customer input, we wouldn't interpret this as a promise that the headphone jack will stick around forever. It stated today, "This is one of those times when we respectfully disagree on what it means to be courageous".
Other than the display change, the specifications of OnePlus 5T will likely remain the same as the previous OnePlus 5.
OnePlus 5T is expected to pack in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with 8GB RAM and a 20MP front and rear camera, according to an earlier report by GizChina. That's why we prioritize the user and make good technology accessible.
