For the past few days, Oppo India has been teasing its latest device launch on its official Twitter handle with hashtag #CaptureTheRealYou.
It also has a Fingerprint sensor located on the back.
Alongside the F5, the company also announced the Oppo F5 Youth with a 6-inch display and AI beautification features, which will be launched in India in December, but no other details of the smartphone are available at the moment. Now, it is set to launch in India, one of the biggest smartphone markets in the world.
Chinese smartphone maker Oppo today launched its latest device in India, the Oppo F5 at an event in Mumbai. Now, if Flipkart's teaser is to be believed then the Oppo F5 may be exclusive to the e-commerce website in the country.
The main highlight of the of the Oppo F5 is it's selfie camera. Oppo is yet to reveal the pricing of the higher variant of F5, which comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage space. The internal storage on the phone can be expanded up to 256 GB using a microSD card.
OPPO F5 is available for pre-order starting from today onwards through OPPO Concept Store and authorized sales points throughout Malaysia. The smartphone comes with a 6-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels that further translates to a pixel density of 402 PPI.
The front camera is also capable of shooting bokeh shots - despite having just one sensor. The front camera is 16MP with f/2.0 gap and it exploits the counterfeit consciousness tech to look over 200 facial acknowledgment spots to create better selfies. Moreover, the front shooter on the Oppo F5 is mated with a 16MP f/1.8 rear camera equipped with LED Flash.
OPPO F5 is powered by an octa-core chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. There is no led flash included at the front which came a bit of a surprise. Apparently, the new age 18:9 display has allowed Oppo to accommodate a pretty large display in a rather small form factor. The smartphone also features a rear-mounted fingerprint recognition button for the biometric authentication process. Oppo claims that the F5 gives you selfies which keep face characteristics intact while beautifying them. Apart from this, the device also supports various connectivity options that include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, hotspot, GPS / A-GPS / GLONASS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. It packs 3200mAh battery.
