A boy and his family are wishing for cards from people around the world in honor of his favorite holiday of Christmas.
Per a GoFundMe page created by Jacob's parents, Jacob was admitted to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland, Maine early last month.
After nine-year-old Jacob Thompson was hospitalized in October after a four-year battle with Stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma, doctors told his family that he likely had just one month to live.
How cute is that young man?!
Doctors say a 9-year-old boy from ME only has a month to live, so his family wants to help him have one last Christmas.
"Jacob loves Christmas" said his father Roger Guay.
Nine-year-old Jacob Thompson loves Christmas, but his doctors in ME have told his parents he may succumb to his advanced-stage cancer before then.
His room will be decorated with a tree and lights. Word has it the big man will make a trip from the North Pole just to visit Jacob and some of the other kids at the hospital!
And only five days after he announced his wish, he has already received more than 100 cards from people all over the country - and even beyond. They're requesting Christmas cards to complete the festivities.
Celebrities like Anna Kendrick, Rob Lowe and CNN's Jake Tapper have similarly announced their intentions to send Jacob some holiday cheer. Like any 9-year-old boy he wants presents, and cards from his family and friends, he also would love some love from anyone who feels inspired to reach out. But he's still feeling the holiday spirit - and he'd love to get some homemade cards.
"The thought came to fruition - 'Why dont we convey the occasions to us?' This way, we know it will happen and give our family time with him for Chrismas".
His mother said the first batch of cards have brought joy to the little boy's life.
