Standard equipment includes a seven-speed double clutch transmission complete with its own oil cooler that allows the auto to be driven like a pure automatic, say around town, or as a manual when the road ahead looks exciting.
A few weeks ago, our spies spotted a more potent version of the BMW M3 doing laps around the Nurburgring.
That performance doesn't come cheap, though, with the M3 CS carrying a £86,000 price tag.
We knew it was coming, and now BMW has spilled the beans on the more powerful, faster BMW M3 CS, which will be limited to just 1200 cars worldwide. Just opt for the M3 with Competition Package as a decent second option. To address the "issue", BMW has now introduced the new M3 CS, which the company says "serves up a flawless blend of dynamism and everyday practicality".
The M3 CS sports BMW's adaptive M suspension as standard, as well as BMW's limited-slip Active M differential.
M3 CS is therefore 0.3 seconds quicker at accelerating and has a higher top speed by 19 miles per hour. The links and wheel carriers are all made from forged aluminum. There's also a carbon fibre front splitter, all of which contributes to a kerb weight 50kg lighter than that of the standard M3. These items contribute to a 10-kg weight saving over the regular M3. BMW wrote, "The first-ever M3 CS features a dual-branch sports exhaust with the characteristic four tailpipes at the back neatly incorporated into the styling of the rear diffuser".
Five paint colours are on offer, including "San Marino Blue", "Lime Rock Grey, "Frozen Dark Blue II" and "Black Sapphire" metallics, as well as the no-cost 'Alpine White". It gets a new pair of springs and dampers, giving it more focused handling, according to BMW. BMW has also thrown in a snazzy, new set of lightweight, ten-spoke wheels wrapped in semi-slick Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubbers that are totally road-legal, officer, I swear.
The interior of the vehicle is special with lots of Alcantara and two-tone leather in Silverstone and black.
Inside you'll find a smattering of Alcantara and the lightweight seats from the Competition Package.
Among some of the car's the standard features are automatic climate control a Harmon Kardon surround sound system and Navigation system professional.
