The rest seem to be mostly also rans in their respective category.
Looking for a price? The price is yet to be announced, but if you must ask, you probably can not afford it. Count on spending six figures, though, and that's before dealers add markup. We're thinking it will debut in Detroit where we'll get a slew of all-new information related to the all-new ZR1's performance.
DUBAI-The Chevrolet Corvette is returning in 2019 faster and more powerful than ever.
"I've never driven a Corvette like this before, and nobody else has either, because there's never been one like this before", said Mark Reuss, Executive Vice President, Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain, General Motors. Alternatively, you can specify the High Wing, which maximizes downforce and is optimized for going around corners at track speeds.
That large glut of horsepower can be attributed to a 52% larger supercharger over previous Corvettes, while a completely re-worked powertrain allows for dual fuel injection and provides an upgraded crankshaft helping put all that power to use.
That power gets to the rear wheels through a seven-speed manual transmission or, in another ZR1 first, an eight-speed automatic. It's the first time an automatic transmission has been offered in a ZR1.
The ZR1 ushered supercharging into the Corvette's wheelhouse almost a decade ago, and this C7 ZR1 assures it's alive and well.
For example, the new ZR1 has a redesigned front end with huge air intakes to feed four new radiators, which brings the total heat exchanger count to 13, according to Chevrolet. The bonnet features a new carbon-fibre "halo" design specially developed to help cool the big engine. Both packages feature a front underwing - a first for a General Motors vehicle - that increases downforce.
Because of the aero, top speed takes a whack, but Chevrolet claims the new ZR1 will still cruise its way past 338km/h (210mph). Both feature substantial ground-works including a large front splitter and new under-mounted front wing, with the "low-wing" package generating 70 per cent more downforce than the standard Z06.
The "Low Wing" features a small trunk-mounted rear wing that allows the auto to achieve its top speed - though its still generates 70 percent more downforce than the standard Z06. Also optional is the high wing, which increases downforce by an estimated 431kg.
The "high wing" package adds a corresponding GT3-style rear wing, as well as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, a re-calibrated suspension tuning and magnetic ride control dampers. And two rear wing styles are available, each tied directly to the car's chassis as in the Corvette C7.R racing vehicle. The exterior gets plethora of loud colour schemes to choose including "Sebring Orange".
Also available for the new Corvette ZR1 is the Sebring Orange Design Package. Sport leather-trimmed bucket seats with microfiber inserts, along with splashes of carbon fiber trim and bronze-colored accents are also fitted in the 2019 ZR1.
