Between Hulu integrating Alexa with its streaming service and third-party speakers now supporting Alexa out of the box, it sure seems like Amazon's smart assistant is everywhere these days.
"Our take is that Amazon has a potential mega-hit on its hands with Alexa - a product/service that has the potential to materially increase the frequency and intensity of Amazon's relationship with its customers", RBC Capital Markets said in a note, back in March.
Businesses also can enroll employees' home devices into their Alexa networks for $3 per month per user.
Alexa for Business supports skills and integrations from partners including Salesforce, Concur, RingCentral, Splunk, and Polycom.
Alexa for Business can help workers manage calendars, keep up with to-do lists, and make phone calls. The speaker syncs with your Alexa devices and lets your Ghost's voice output from the replica.
Amazon is far from the only major player in the voice control space.
With shared Alexa devices, users can start and end meetings in conference rooms by saying "Alexa, start/end the meeting". This skill "seamlessly connects the world of Destiny 2 with enabled Amazon Alexa devices via real-time voice commands".
There are also more practical uses for Alexa in a work setting, such as changing the temperature in a particular conference room or turning the lights on and off. From there, players can use the "Alexa, ask ghost" command to quickly save and swap weapon loadouts, send messages to fellow players, receive quest and milestone updates, or ask about the game's lore.
A series of features added to Alexa since launch make the AI assistant better equipped to enter the workplace today than it was this time previous year, including the ability to make phone and video calls, and incorporate calendars from Office 365 and Google's G Suite.
