Back in September, Google blocked YouTube support for the Echo Show, stating that Amazon's implementation "violates our terms of service, creating a broken user experience". Google explains that while Amazon uses YouTube on its devices, the retailer doesn't sell Google products like the Chromecast and Google Home, nor does it offer Prime Video for Google Cast users.
Google Inc. said it would pull out YouTube from two Amazon devices on December 5. "We hope we can reach an agreement to resolve these issues soon". When Google first pulled YouTube from the Echo Show, Amazon got some measure of revenge by no longer selling the Nest E Thermostat, Nest's Camera IQ, and the Nest Secure alarm system.
Google said Tuesday it had cut access to YouTube on Amazon's smart speakers with screens, called the Echo Show, and that it plans to block YouTube on Amazon's Fire TV media-streaming device on January 1.
Google said in a statement, "We've been trying to reach agreement with Amazon to give consumers access to each other's products and services". That's a vague way of saying that Google is over Amazon not allowing them to sell Chromecast and Google Home through Amazon and so they are blocking YouTube in retaliation.
Amazon has also previously stopped selling several Google hardware devices including audio streaming products and Nest smart home products.
This comes after a series of tit-for-tat exchanges between the two companies. Similarly, Amazon Prime Video doesn't support Google's Cast feature, making it hard to get video to a big screen for Android users.

Now, with the feud with Google, Amazon is making its intentions known: the retail giant is making no bones about its future and plans that include a takeover of the consumer reatail space. Mark Eamer, vice president of Prime Video, said in a statement today that Amazon is "thrilled" to finally have the app on Apple TV.
