Attorney General Maura Healey joining lawsuit against FCC net neutrality decision

New Mexico's attorney general is joining top prosecutors in other states suing the Federal Communications Commission for repealing "net neutrality" rules.

"Everyone who uses the Internet should be concerned about how this will impact Internet access and affordability", said Eustace in a statement. "Thanks to you and this jackhole you appointed to run the FCC, big corporations are about to take full control of the internet, so Merry Christmas everybody", he told his audience.

Pai has said the FCC's action "is not going to end the Internet as we know it" and "it's not going to stifle free expression online".

Eustace announced his plan to propose a bill on Thursday, the same day that the FCC agreed to rollback the consumer protections put in place during the tenure of President Barack Obama.

He said the repeal is not the end of the free and open internet, as some articles, have claimed. The vote on net neutrality could affect rural communities.

Chairman Ajit Pai said Friday that supporters of net neutrality provisions that were repealed Thursday have been proven wrong, as internet users wake up still able to send emails and use Twitter after the regulations were struck down.

Save the Internet adds, "We need members of Congress to stand up for the open internet and for the digital civil rights of their constituents now".

The Attorneys General of New York Illinois, Oregon, Massachusets and Washington State have said they will file a multistate lawsuit against the FCC's decision.
