Your Disney World theme park admission tickets will be tied to the dates you plan to use them, just like hotel reservations and airfares.
At Walt Disney World in Florida, a one-day ticket to the Magic Kingdom park during peak season increased by $5, or 4 percent, to $129.
A "value" one day ticket for Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios comes to $102 for adults and $96 for children, which is a 2 dollar rise. "Regular" times at these parks will cost $114 for an adult and $108 for a child.
Disney also says it will extend its pre-published, date-specific pricing to multiday tickets at Walt Disney World.
Annual pass prices at California's Disneyland are going up by as much as almost 18 percent, as Disney looks to better balance its crowd levels throughout the year. "Peak" tickets at these parks will run $122 for an adult and $116 for a child. Former Signature pass costs 849 USA dollars, which includes free parking, goes up to 999 US dollars while the most expensive Signature Plus pass, with free parking and an online app to board rides faster, is now 1,149 USA dollars, up from 1,049 US dollars.
"We know how important making memories at Disney theme parks is to families and we will continue to evolve our pricing in a way that gives families a range of options to meet their budget and helps better spread attendance throughout the year so they can make the most of every visit", Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger said. The year is divided into value, regular, and peak periods with a calendar available online mapping out prices and periods from 8 to 11 months out.
Southern California residents still have rights to buy a "select passport" for 369 USA dollars but that pass blocks out all weekends and nearly the entire summer and Christmas season.
According to Disney, the prices will take effect Sunday. All of the increases are reflected on the parks' websites.
