Ruffin, a 17-year-old Rochester area high school student, is concerned for his and peers safety and believe teachers armed with guns could take a turn for the worse.

The head of the biggest gun lobby in the USA has accused Democrats of pushing a "socialist" agenda to deprive gun owners of their weapons, in an uncompromising speech just a week after 17 people died in the Florida school shooting. Some prominent USA educators also said they oppose arming teachers.
Trump responded to a number of emotional stories from the survivors and parents of victims from the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14 by pledging to act on school shootings "two minutes" after a listening session. It takes police & first responders approximately 5 to 8 minutes to get to site of crime.
"A gun-free zone to a maniac-because they're all cowards-a gun-free zone is 'Let's go in and let's attack because bullets aren't coming back at us, '" Trump continued. "Must be offensive, defense alone won't work!" he added.
The proposal puts Mr Trump slightly at odds with the National Rifle Association (NRA) - the largest and most powerful guns-rights lobbying group in America. Florida Senator Marco Rubio told the audience he does not support arming teachers and defended his acceptance of more than $3 million in political campaign donations from the NRA.
The president has proposed a range of measures to combat school violence in the wake of the shooting, among them restrictions on bump stocks, raising the age to buy assault rifles and increasing security at schools, including possibly arming and training some teachers. Gun store owner Jake Belemjian supports Trump's idea but says not every teacher needs to hide and carry to stop a mass shooting.
