Kuo says that Apple could launch the new headphone alongside the updated version of the Airpods later this year. The new product will also have better acoustic capabilities when compared to the Airpods. The AirPods, Apple's Bluetooth earphones which do away with wires between the two earpieces completely, have been a stand-out win for the Cupertino firm, and are still in high demand even a year after they first went on sale. However, the new headphones would nearly certainly impact AirPods sales. So, the question remains: is Apple creating these headphones with its own branding or using the Beats brand? Apple is said to be working with the metal injection molding company SZS, and is planning to ship its headphones later in 2018. The analyst expects a 100% to 200% jump in the component orders in fiscal 2018, while shipments of assembled devices is expected to rise 60% to 80%. The new chip would further improve the connection between the iPhone and headphones to make it more reliable.
