In a recent interview with E!, he said he hopes viewers will "understand me a lot more" after they get over the initial unexpectedness of his decision.
She was the first Minnesotan to receive a proposal on the show. "A penny for every time I yelled, 'She said, leave Arie!' at the TV", Emily Kleinhans wrote of the scene where a heartbroken Becca repeatedly asks Arie to leave her alone after he dumps her, but he doesn't seem to get the message. Arie admitted that after spending time with Becca he's in love with her and still conflicted about what to do.
After wrapping our heads around this out-of-the-blue revelation, we did a bit of digging and saw that Robert Mills, ABC's senior vice president of alternative series, confirmed that the two did, in fact, meet a while ago - at one of Arie's racing events in Texas.
More revelations about Luyendyk were unveiled this week, as former contestant Bekah Martinez tweeted out a series of images that show Luyendyk privately messaging her even after the show wrapped up filming, according to E! And I don't think it's fair to be half in with you.
Kufrin opened up about the breakup to People, saying she doesn't think Luyendyk is "a monster". "I think he did an wonderful job with this whole thing, and he couldn't have gone about it in a more respectful way", Burnham said. That came just a couple short commercial breaks after being depicted on what was ostensibly the happiest day of her life, accepting an offer of engagement from wishy-washy race vehicle driver Arie Luyendyk Jr.
"The one thing that is present to me right now is just his bravery and his honesty".
Kufrin reflected on the day that she was sent home, sharing, "That morning, I woke up and I was very oddly calm".
After meeting Lauren and Becca, even Arie's family felt torn, but ultimately, they liked Becca more because she's communicative and confident.
While she tried to maintain her composure, Kufrin couldn't hold it together for long.
There are many things Arie could have done differently during his time as the Bachelor. He broke up with her without really explaining why and then proposed to Becca in front of the cameras and a small but curious pack of Alpacas.
Frankly, though, their conversation would make for a supremely dramatic one-act play that Becca should receive all the money for. At that point, I loved him and I wanted to be with him.
What do you think of how this season ended?
"There was a better and more tactful way to do it", she said. Ominous? Probably. Bachelor producers control everything.
We all had to sit there, watching first in horror and then in anger and finally in tedium while Kufrin wept and cursed into her blouse, repeatedly telling the blank-faced Luyendyk to get lost. Him reassuring her and holding her hand through this has given her so much confidence and she's ready to spend the rest of her life with him.
