After another exciting Nintendo Direct full of new content for existing titles, fans were gifted a treat with the surprise announcement of a new Super Smash Bros. title to be released on the Nintendo Switch.
Rumors have been circulating for some time now about a Switch version of Smash Bros.
During the Nintendo Direct presentation today, the company revealed a Super Smash Bros. title for the Nintendo Switch.
The Smash Bros. series began in 1999 when it was first launched on the Nintendo 64 followed by a GameCube version called Super Smash Bros. Their popularity led to downloadable Inkling costumes for Mii fighters in the Wii U/3DS Smash Bros., and it was great to finally get confirmation that they'd take their rightful place in the series' next entry. We know it will have a 2018 release date and the Inklings from Splatoon will be a part of the roster. The game's director, Seita Inoue, was joined by Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima to cement the announcement and conclude the Nintendo Direct.
In terms of obscurities I'd still love to see Nell or one of the Advance Wars crew, plus Birdo, Chibi-Robo, and the return of the Ice Climbers.
Super Smash Bros on Switch: Is it a remake of Smash Wii U? I've played the Wii U version and it's very fun to play. As the camera cuts from the Octoling's face to the source of the glowing red light, we see it: the iconic Smash logo in all its glory. The teaser provided a good look at the Inklings (from Splatoon) along with Mario and Link (from Zelda: Breath of the Wild), as well as a glimpse of several other characters hidden in shadows. Numerous games that came with it did well because of the success of the gaming console.
"South Park: The Fractured But Whole" will arrive for the Nintendo Switch on April 24.
Nintendo Switch owners will soon be able to enjoy Okami HD on the go, as Capcom has announced the remastered re-release will make its way to Nintendo's newest console this Summer. In response to this news, he says "I'm excited to use GameMaker Studio 2 to put Undertale on Nintendo Switch".
