"[Patriots coach] Bill Belichick is interested in possibly signing Dez Bryant", a source close to the Patriots EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com.
At this point, the Eagles have a solid starting trio of receivers in Alshon Jeffery, Mike Wallace, and Nelson Agholor and with the draft two weeks away, the team could add yet another young playmaker to pair with Mack Hollins as developmental prospects going forward. Randall Cobb will man the slot, as usual.
And then what happens when Cobb gets injured, as he is wont to do?
Yikes! Imagine the Packers trotting out Allison and Davis as starters.
I get these arguments, but I don't think they should really have an impact on the Titans decision to sign Dez Bryant. He'll turn 30 years old in November.
The Packers certainly know how good Bryant can be when he's on.
However, he's been trending down.
Before the three most prolific seasons of his career, when Bryant averaged 1,312 yards and almost 14 touchdowns per year, he got tangled in lawsuits over unpaid jewelry bills and had a baggy trousers incident with police at an upscale Dallas mall. In 2016, his first with Dak Prescott throwing him the ball, Bryant went for 50, 796 and eight in 13 games. In 2017, Bryant caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games.
Jones and vice president Stephen Jones tap-danced around the issue at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, but indications from each side of the talks indicated Bryant wasn't long for Dallas. However, since the loss of Tony Romo, he's only averaged 100 targets per season, so it's no wonder his production has dropped off.
The possibility isn't out of the question. I'm high on Beasley coming into this season and would love to have him as a late No. 2, early No.3 receiver.
At the recent owners meetings, Jones said he had not entertained the thought of Bryant not being on the roster in 2018. There are still receiver-hungry teams with more money than the Packers to spend, however.
Simply put, even if Bryant does want to stay in the NFC East, it seems incredibly unlikely that that landing spot will be in South Philly.
